My Approach to Therapy
I believe that therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. You’ve already taken an important step by recognizing that something needs to change. My role is to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can pause, reflect, and begin moving toward the life you want.
As a licensed professional counselor in Fort Worth, Texas, I work with adults and couples who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, life transitions, and the feeling of being stuck or overwhelmed. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person Centered principles to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, while always keeping your personal goals at the center of our work. For couples, I also incorporate the Gottman Method to strengthen communication and rebuild connection.
Why I Became a Therapist
My path to becoming a therapist began with my own experience in therapy. In my early twenties, I went through a period of depression that I hadn’t experienced before. I started isolating myself from friends and family, and I felt anxiety about social situations and my life in ways that were completely new to me. I didn’t really understand what was happening until I started therapy.
Therapy became a pivotal space where I gained a better understanding of myself, my feelings, and how to work through them. I learned that these experiences didn’t define me, but that I could develop tools to navigate them. I still feel these things from time to time, but now I have more in my toolbelt to handle them. That’s what I want to help others discover too.
A Bit About Me
Outside of my practice, I’m a husband, father, and pet parent to two cats and a dog. I know what it’s like to navigate big life changes and figure out who you are in the middle of them. Those experiences don’t just inform my work, they remind me that we’re all trying to figure things out as we go.
Working Together
You don’t have to keep carrying this alone. If you’re ready to feel more like yourself again and start making the changes you’ve been thinking about, let’s talk. I offer both in person sessions in Fort Worth and telehealth appointments throughout Texas.
